Sunday was the day for parties! I went to my friend, Crystal's baby shower. She's having TWIN BOYS! Yikes! I know. How exciting for her though.

After the shower I went to Cora's 4th birthday party. She is growing up so fast. I love this princess!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORA!

Fast, Easy yummy meal!

I had one of my favorite meals tonight. I love to do this when I don't have a lot of time or just really don't feel like making anything. (Oh, come on,  you all have been there so don't shake fingers at me, lol) I LOVE the Jerk rotisserie chicken from Walmart and a side of steamed zucchini and squash. Now the chicken is self-explanatory but let me expand of the veggies. I use the seal and steam bags by Ziploc. THEY ARE AWESOME! Have you used them before? All you do is put whatever you want in the bag with whatever seasoning you want and in "minutes" you have yummo veggies (or any meat too). It is one of my favorite inventions ever, especially when I'm feeling lazy. LOL.  Pair this delicious meal with a cold glass of White Merlot and I have one of my most favorite meals, though I have many others but nothing beats how easy this is.
What are you favorite meals (easy or hard)?
Do you have any tricks?

Our Trip to St. Augustine

Douglas and I have just returned from St. Augustine, FL where we stayed in a bed and breakfast called Inn on Charlotte for Douglas' birthday! We had an amazing time in the Old City and we did pretty much every touristy thing one could do. LOL We decided to do the Red Train (has 20 stops) which gave us a better discount on the other things to do around town. These are some of the things we did:
Fort Castillo de San Marcos
Ripley's Believe it of Not Museum
Ripley's Ghost Tour
Antiquing
The Lighthouse
Lightner Museum
Flagler College tour
Old Drug Store (of course =))
mini golf
St. George Street and King Street (enjoying the art galleries and window shopping)

There were plenty of restaurants to keep one full but it was kinda hard to find ones we wanted to eat at considering we don't eat seafood. But we did manage to find ones we thought we GREAT while others not so good. Our favorites were the A1A restaurant, the Collage and Columbia.  We both were able to get food that was delicious!

Post Office Photo Shoot

So a trip to the Post Office turned into a photo shoot with some of the guys from our local baseball team. The Manatees mascot and some of the players were there supporting the stamp that just came out "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" commemorating the song. And of course, I had my camera in my purse for just this reason.....LOL

Filled Weekend

What a crazy weekend it has been! Friday I went with Erin, Leah and Cora to the pool. It was sooo relaxing and the water was like bath water. Then it rained...figures. lol

Saturday I made Douglas cupcakes for his birthday - Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes! They were soo yummy! (his birthday is really on friday but we are going out of town for it so I wanted to make them for him now)

Douglas and I went to the Feed My Sheep concert saturday night. The best I can say about it was it was alright especially considering the only band I really wanted to see was the last one and they didn't play because of weather - again darn rain!

After the "concert" we headed to our friends - the Savages. Douglas was going to stay and watch the fight with all the guys while I went to the movies with Rachel. We saw The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It was pretty cute. By 1:00 am we were pretty tired but YAY we made it out of bed for church in the morning!!!
Sunday, Douglas called out of work for the day and monday because he had been complaining about his legs hurting so bad. (And most of you know that if he actually called out it has to be bad because he doesn't do that.) We spent the whole day with Erin and Ricardo at the house watching movies (both bad, not even worth mentioning the ones we saw) and eating. Lunch we grilled burgers - mmm while for dinner we had spaghetti, again, mmmm. We ended the evening watching the gymnastics and are unnerved that the American team did so BAD! They better step it up.

So this was my weekend, what was yours like? What was you favorite part of the weekend?

My thoughts on living among each other

I'm sitting here watching the opening ceremony for the 2008 Summer Olympics thinking about how very cool it is that every country can come together if only for a moment and put differences aside. Then I start to think about how sad it is that it has to be like this only every 4 years instead of indefinitely. Why oh why can't the world live among each other peacefully? How sad it must make God feel that His loved people must fight one another.

side note: I think this is one of my favorite opening ceremonies I've seen, what do you think?

A present in our yard

This morning I put Dingo outside as usual so she could do her thing. Im upstairs getting ready when I hear her barking constantly with out stopping.  I first thought she was barking at the garbage men because she always does but then she didn't stop when they were gone. So I go downstairs to find her actually barking at something in our yard. Well, surprise surprise it was a turtle. She such a good doggie. =)

My silliness and accomplishments

A couple things:
First, I had to laugh at myself yesterday and I figured why not share in my silliness. The muscles under my arms were killing me Sunday and Monday (not as bad yesterday) and I couldn't figured it out. Then I stopped to think about and I FIGURED IT OU! LOL Friday and Saturday I read two books: one with 560 pages and the other with 754 pages. Apparently because I was holding them for long periods of time (and bc they are pretty heavy) I was using muscles that don't get used.  How silly is this? ROFL... I did so I am also giving you permission to laugh at me too, at the very least give me a head shake.

Next, besides doing the backsplash for our kitchen which I am very proud of for doing myself (with help)  I have also figured out how to get the Facebook app on my blogger page. YEAH ME! I have been seeing it on others and have been wanting to add it for a while but couldn't figure it out. Today was the day! If you want to add it yourself here is the link.

Questions:
Have you read any good books lately?
Have you discovered how to do something that your proud of ?

Today was a very progressive day. My BIL, Ricardo came over to help me put up a backsplash behind my stove. He's a great handy man. I really think it turned out GREAT!
Thanks for all your help hermano!
