(this is cilantro on its way!)

(this is basil on its way!)

(look real close - this is oregano on its way!)

ALSO: Thought I would share a happy site, this is how much they love each other. Truly man's best friend. So sweet. =)

Pictograms on Medicine Bottles - Stroke of Genius???

So, my brilliant husband came up with this idea for those patients that can't read to make labels with pictograms on them. - Hmm? This seems like it would be a genius idea, right? Well let's think about this: Patient comes in for a vaginal suppository. Um, honestly, would YOU want that picture on your medicine bottle? Need I say more - I am sure you can "picture" it yourself. HA

Ahh, my smart husband, gotta love him!

Every good and perfect gift

Every good and perfect gift comes from above! James 1:17

Douglas and I did our devotions together last night and this was the verse we read. So often we forget the gifts God gives us in our family and friends. Its important to recognize them as IMPORTANT gifts from Him and respect them as these treasures.  I am so grateful that God has given my husband to me. For his loving, kind-hearted spirit and his hard work and dedication.
Today, say a prayer for your precious treasures in your life and thank God for them!
(Looking for a devotion for married couples? We highly recommend, "Songs in the key of Solomon by John and Anita Renfroe)

On a side note: peanut butter helps get rid of hiccups. FYI!

Dumb Just gets Dumber

WARNING: About to step on one of my soap boxes

I went to the grocery store today well, to grocery shop. No big deal. It was when I got to the check out line that I heard/saw what I think is one of the stupidest things. You all know how I feel already about smoking but this one made me want to hit the lady in front of me on the forehead (kinda like the V8 commercial, gosh I love those). So, I get to the counter and I hear this "cough, cough" "cough, cough" I look up and there's a lady in front of me in a wheelchair hacking up a lung. And, my initial thought was "awe, this poor lady is sick and had to go get her own groceries" - yeah right... then I heard her talking to the cashier. HA! Sick my booty. She just got out of the hospital from lung cancer and was buying - wait for it, I'm sure you can guess - cigarettes! I mean how dumb can you get! Some people never learn!
In the mean time, could you refrain from harming those around you lady?
So, in the words of a comedy "the next time you see a smoker, just stab them because it's not like they haven't been warned".

Have you LAUGHed Today?

I know you must have seen the commercial of the laughing cow cheese, right? Well, my Best Friend Leah and I indulged in some of this tasty delight today along with tall glasses of lemonade (no ice for me please)! Very yummy. It was great to sit back, relax, talk and enjoy one another's long friendship (its been 16 FUN years) . =)

P.S. It's almost April right? Then can someone PUHLEEZE tell me why its still cold outside? hmm? ug.

Easter Sunday!

Hope everyone had a terrific Easter! We spent the morning on our porch enjoying one another's company with cinnamon rolls and yummy coffee talking about how thankful we were for this DAY and what God did for us on this weekend!
The day continued onto some great "spring " cleaning. I know, just what you want to do on a holiday. lol But it really had to be done because the dust and odd smells were really getting to me. But Douglas and I, yes Douglas helped,  scrubbed and dust was flying and after all of that we only got through half the darn house before he had to head off to work - but what was accomplished looked (and smelled-wink) much better! (Oh, and Puppers got a good bath too !)
Then, Douglas went off to work and I went to my sisters house for a bit before we headed to Daisy's house (Ricardo's Sister)

for dinner: ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, and mashed potatoes -
mmmm.

And for dessert Daisy made a tasty treat as well, not really sure it had a name but it was good!

After dinner we watched "
Enchanted" . Cute movie- chick flic / children's movie for sure. But the guys were troopers!
HAPPY EASTER!
He died for us that so we might LIVE forever!

Not a green thumb but Im trying for an herb garden

I am getting a little tired of going to the grocery store and having to buy "fresh" herbs just to use a sprig of it from an entire package. Anyone else feel this frustration? My solution? growing my own herbs to pick from. LOL. I know I know, I hear the laughter from you.  As many of you know I do not have a green thumb AT ALL. I usually kill most living plants that I come into contact with - unfortunately. It's not on purpose, really. I promise. =) But I thought I would try my hand at some herbs. So I ventured to the store today to buy what I thought would be my essentials and I didn't think it would be that hard. Well, ok, so I didn't know that there was that many different types of soils - geeze. And of course my luck when I went to ask the associate for help, she was sitting in the "oh so comfortable outdoors  merchandise ON SALE" and wouldn't get up to help but instead only pointed - yes pointed to the area I should meander to. So, I walked to the area she "pointed" to and selected my herbs and moved on still harbouring that "how rude" feeling in my heart" but once I got home I was very excited to get started on planting.  I have no idea if they will grow but I am looking forward to it if they will. So please pray that some how that this time I had a green thumb and I won't kill these plants. I mean, its not like I am trying to grow something for just beauty sake, its for a living, its for my husband so he can have yummy food without waste.  Wish me luck!

St. Patrick's Day - for Real

After we went to the Dog Park with Dingo it was now time to go and spend some grown up time! HA!

We went out with some friends to Meg O' Malley's to celebrate the green holiday -
Paddy Day!

We had a really
great time and ran into a lot of other people there.

Good times - Good times!

First Day at the Dog Park

We had a family day at the Dog Park at Wickham Park yesterday. It was a BLAST! We walked around for about an hour before we actually went into the park for Dingo to play with other friends.

Along our walk we stopped to try and take some family pictures.

It was a gorgeous day and we were very pleased that Dingo didn't even try to chase the ducks around the pond.

It was a fun day and needless to say she was pooped out by the end....

St. Patrick's Day - Observed

Its that time - St. Patty's Day! Douglas, Ricardo and I went to Meg O' Malley's for the Street Party on Saturday. We got there around 3:00 and spent the day walking up and down Downtown Melbourne. It was a lot of fun.

We stopped to grab a bite to eat at a vendor - corn dogs and turkey legs.

And of course we had to have some GREEN BEER!

It was a relaxing day having fun hanging out with each other.

Another Busy, but Fun weekend

This weekend was a full one. I spent Friday night with some friends celebrating a birthday. Dinner at Island Pasta Company which is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Melbourne.

Saturday I went with my sister in law, Ryan to a woman's conference at Calvary Chapel Melbourne called Rise Up. It was a great conference focusing completely on prayer: how to pray, when to pray, why pray, what to pray. It was a great time of praise and worship and focusing on God and talking with Him.

Sunday, I spend the day with Erin and Ricardo and we went to Dick's Sporting Goods for their free event day. They had a shooting range, kayaks, fishing, pictures, etc. It was a little silly but fun.

And of course they day wouldn't have been complete without a great dessert! Yummy!

strawBERRY FESTIVal

Today Douglas and I went to the Strawberry Festival held at Wickham Park Pavilion. It took us FOREVER to drive there. The road was backed up all the way from Melbourne BCC parking lot to 192 (the road where the Melbourne Square Mall is). So, that is pretty far back. I guess we weren't the only ones crazy enough to want to get there and have a taste of those delicious Plant City strawberries! But we did eventually get there even though we had to park in the boondocks then walk what seemed like miles to actually get in. LOL. It was fun while we were there and the weather was great (well, Douglas had to walk around with his collar turned up so his neck wouldn't burn, lol).  We had a fabulous time hanging out together and we scored some great treats!

Don't Tell Dingo about this one! =)
